The Haunted Hotel

A responsive redesign for San Diego's longest running haunted house

THE BRIEF

With a website designed and built about 7 years ago, The Haunted Hotel, and sister haunt, The Haunted Trail were overdue for a major redesign – both visually and to the site architecture and user experience. Knowing that a large portion of visitors to the Haunted Hotel would be likely visiting the website on mobile devices as they made plans for their evenings, it was very important to develop a responsive site which would highlight ticket information and purchase, frequently asked questions, hours and directions.

THE PROJECT

In addition to creating a better user experience on mobile and tablet devices, I identified a number of ways to modernize the design of the site and create more compelling touch points within the content. As a haunted house, there is a terrific amount of imagery to pull from to create interest within pages of the site and feature the actors and scenes that make these attractions such a draw with visitors.
